Delivery times and delays

Once received at our logistics centre in France, all your orders are prepared and then shipped to Madagascar. From that date, allow 7 to 15 days for delivery.

After placing your order, you can check the estimated delivery dates for each item using the order manager. These dates are indicative and depend on various factors:

• The delivery date shown on Amazon
• Whether Amazon or the third-party seller meets that delivery date
• Customs formalities, the chosen relay point
• Unforeseen circumstances (customs delays, local or international disruptions...)

By selecting items sold directly by Amazon, you ensure better delivery times. These items are usually immediately available and delivered to us more quickly.

If the item is offered by a third-party seller, remember to check other users' reviews on Amazon. Note that third-party sellers do not always have the same processing and delivery standards as Amazon, which can lead to longer delivery times or even delays.

Although we have no control over many of these factors, we do our best to meet the stated deadlines.

Customs procedures

All customer orders are systematically declared and go through the standard customs clearance process.

Processing of import and customs formalities is included in the final order price.

Transmitting and/or receiving devices and ARTEC

All devices with wireless capabilities (WiFi, Bluetooth, LTE and other signals), such as routers, smartphones or GPS units, are regulated by ARTEC. Importing this type of device requires approval; otherwise they cannot be cleared through customs.

Approved or exempt device:

No additional fees will be charged. Your item will be cleared without extra delay.

Non-approved or non-exempt device:

An approval application must be submitted to ARTEC. This procedure is subject to non-refundable filing fees and may cause additional delays.

If held at customs, customer service will contact you with payment instructions for these fees. Note that this amount is paid separately from the total shown at checkout.

Note that ARTEC approval is not automatic. The imported equipment may not be authorised to enter Madagascar. In that case, we will cancel and refund your order.

Blocked and prohibited items

A list of prohibited and blocked products is available in our dedicated "Import regulations" section. Thanks to keyword and category filtering, most items are blocked and not processed at checkout.

However, you are always responsible for ensuring that your purchases are not prohibited for import. Despite all our efforts, some items may not be detected by the system and may be processed at checkout. This happens when a third-party seller uses an unsuitable category or deliberately bypasses filtering systems.

Digital products, insurance/warranties, and other information

Digital purchases:

At present, Cart'In cannot process digital purchases (Amazon gift cards, Kindle books, video games, software, PlayStation Plus cards, etc.). We are however working to develop these features.

Insurance/Warranties:

Do not subscribe to Amazon's optional insurance. These are sometimes suggested when you add certain items to your cart (computers, components, devices of all kinds).

Cart'In cannot extend the manufacturer's warranty outside the country of purchase. We are however working to offer optional additional insurance in Madagascar.

Other information:

The final price of all your purchases includes the amount shown on Amazon, Cart'In service fees, shipping and import fees, as well as duties and taxes.

We also offer our import services for purchases made on other websites based in Europe and the United States. Contact our customer service to learn more about how to request a quote.

Import rules

Some product categories are strictly prohibited for import, while others are subject to restrictions and may require prior authorisation from the relevant authorities.

Although the app and extension automatically block a number of prohibited items, we encourage you to familiarise yourself with these restrictions so you can make informed choices.

Prohibitions

Import of the following categories is strictly prohibited.

Prohibited for import into Madagascar:

Weapons and ammunition, pistols and accessories, including BB/pellet/airsoft/paintball gun replicas, spare parts and projectiles, hunting weapons and associated ammunition, magazines and bayonets, tasers, electric impulse guns, tear gas, mace and pepper spray, gas masks and gas mask filters, law enforcement striking weapons including batons and truncheons. Knives and blades of all kinds. Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides. Radioactive elements or products. Oxidising agents. Fire extinguishers. Medicines even for personal use, cosmetic products intended for purposes other than personal use. Live animals and plants. Any unidentified chemical materials, substances or products.

Prohibited for air transport to Madagascar:

Poisonous substances, toxic substances, especially those that can be inhaled, infectious substances, explosives, fireworks, gunpowder, flares or matches, petrol, diesel or other fuels, lighters containing fuel. Self-balancing boards (hoverboards).

Restrictions

Items in the following categories may require administrative formalities with the relevant authorities. As part of our services, we can handle these procedures for you. Please contact us if you have any questions or uncertainties.

Hunting weapons and associated ammunition: national security service authorisation is required. Knives and blades of all kinds. Medicines in small quantities for personal use: a medical certificate or prescription is required. Medicines for purposes other than personal use: Ministry of Health authorisation is mandatory. Food products for purposes other than personal use: Ministry of Trade authorisation is mandatory. Wireless devices: ARTEC authorisation may be required if the device has not been previously approved.
